Santana arrived on the musical scene in the late 1960s with performances at the famed Fillmore and other venues, but it was not until the group’s participation in Woodstock that Santana emerged onto the global scene in 1969. It was this same year that Santana soared to Billboard’s album charts with a self-titled first album that stayed on the charts for two years.
Carlos Santana is still performing and has played with a variety of musicians as part of the Santana group as well as collaboratively. He’s known worldwide for his signature electric guitar sounds and can be seen in 2019 on the Global Consciousness tour. Santana has far-surpassed 100 million records sold, won 10 Grammy Awards, three Latin Grammy’s, and was recognized with inclusion into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as achievement awards from the Kennedy Center, the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and other numerous distinctions. Carlos Santana is also associated with two brand names, executive-produced the film Dolores, and wrote a memoir titled, The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light.

This Woodstock performer has thrived since the historic performance in 1969 and it is nice to be able to revisit of part of that time by following this highly success performer. You can learn more about Santana’s story and sign up for the mailing list at the Santana website.
